Roscommon has one of the smallest rental markets in Ireland, mostly around Roscommon town and Boyle. Rents are low but supply is very thin. Older housing stock is the norm — check insulation, BER and heating costs carefully before committing.
Since 1 March 2026, a national rent control system applies across Ireland, including Roscommon. Rent increases are capped at the lower of 2% per year or the general rate of inflation, and rent may be reviewed once every 12 months.
