Clare's rental market is driven by Ennis, Shannon and the Ennis–Limerick commuter belt. Rents are lower than neighbouring Limerick city but supply is tight, especially near Shannon Airport and the University of Limerick. Watch for short-term holiday lets misadvertised as long-term rentals along the coast.
Since 1 March 2026, a national rent control system applies across Ireland, including Clare. Rent increases are capped at the lower of 2% per year or the general rate of inflation, and rent may be reviewed once every 12 months.
